The Indiana Long Term Care Program is a partnership between the state of Indiana and participating insurance companies to provide Long Term Care insurance policies which contain added benefits, most notable with regards to Medicaid. In fact these policies are referred to as partnership policies.

To the credit of Hoosier Lawmakers, Indiana is only one of four states to offer a partnership policy; the others being New York , California , and Connecticut. This program has proven itself to be popular and well respected as it has provided Long Term Care consumers with a more secure, benefit rich group of plans that Indiana Partnership policy holders can write off on their state taxes.

The Indiana Long Term Care Insurance Program is administered by the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning under the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration in conjunction with the Indiana Department of Insurance.

Indiana residence do not have to select Partnership policies but for those who choose to and qualify, they have the additional assurance of knowing that these policies have been approved to participate in the State's Long Term Care insurance plan.
